Admissions
Choosing a developmental learning space for one’s child is not easy. The question, “Is this the right place for my child?” would be uppermost in every parent’s mind. Early Years Montessori values its philosophy and core beliefs and this philosophy, along with its implicit faith in the Montessori method, should be of equal value to the parent, so that both the home and the school work together collaboratively. Every child is unique. We respect and value that each child learns in their own way, at their own pace, and brings to that learning an individual yet collaborative approach.
Admission to our Early Years programme is open through the year. The minimum age requirement at the time of entry is 15 months, by which time most children are walking comfortably on their own. It is ideal if parents apply and enrol their child prior to them reaching the required age so that we can keep space for them and be ready to receive them when the time comes.
We encourage you to read the contents of this page to understand our admissions process and policies better. Kindly note that submitting an Admissions Application Form does not guarantee admission.
Our Admissions Process
- All admissions are handled online, exclusively via our Admissions Portal. We do not issue hard copies of our Application Forms.
- All application forms are reviewed by our Admissions Committee, who then invite the parents along with their child/children for an interaction/dialogue before a final decision is taken.
- Children who are admitted to our Early Years programme automatically graduate to our Pre-Primary programme at Head Start Montessori House of Children, Koramangala. However, they are not guaranteed admission to any other institution run by the Head Start group.
- Please give us time to get back to you after receiving your application.
- Once we receive your application we will contact you to set up a campus visit. This will help you get a sense of our learning spaces and understand our programme.
- Our process is transparent. Selection is based entirely on vacancy and our ability to meet the needs of the child. We do not entertain external pressure, political or otherwise and any attempts to influence/pressurise admission decisions through letters and/or calls on behalf of applicants will not be appreciated.

FAQs
Why should a child be 15 months old before joining the programme?
By the age of 15 months most children are steady on their feet, ready to explore and enjoy the environment independently.
How long do children stay at Early Years before moving to Head Start Montessori House of Children, Koramangala?
Typically a child spends one academic year at Early Years. They graduate to Head Start between the ages of 2 ½ and 3 years.
If for any reason both the school and the parents feel additional time at Early Years is required, the matter is discussed and a decision is taken accordingly.
If a child stays on at Early Years for an additional term/terms, will their overall learning be impacted?
Not at all. The curriculum follows the developmental needs of each child and they continue working with new concepts based on their readiness.
