About Us

At Head Start, ‘Us’ means many things — a campus, children, educators, parents, a community and collaboration.

‘Us’ began in a small garage and a big dream in 1984 with the birth of Head Start Montessori House of Children, Koramangala. We now have ‘us’ in different locations and for varying age groups.

All our schools are run and managed by the Head Start Educational Trust. Our learning programmes are aligned with our philosophy, built on the foundation of Maria Montessori’s vision and pedagogy which has survived over a hundred years because of its clarity, its ability to work at the pace of the child and its potential to include children with different needs and abilities. The Montessori vision is so perfect that it’s hard to change; its articulation is brilliant and truly develops every sense and need. It also lays a strong base for learning at the high school level and participation in exam boards (Head Start Educational Academy offers the ICSE, ISC, IGCSE and AS and A Level) We believe, as Montessori says, in learning for life, not just for the classroom.
